Top 5 Must Try Burger Toppings
It’s getting to be the hottest part of the summer months. What better way to spend some summer days than to get together with some friends or family and have a burger cookout?
You could be eating any kind of burgers like beef, chicken, even ones made of vegetables. But what do you put on it? To give you some ideas for the next cookout here are the Top 5 Ideas for Burger Toppings!
#5 – Nacho Toppings
Make up your burgers like a big helping of nachos. Nothing gets a Burger meal going like taking things a bit “south of the border” (or what you are told is “Mexican” treats). Top them out with Salsa, melted nacho cheese, Peppers, Guacamole, and maybe a bit of Tabasco sauce as well. It doesn’t have to be hot but if that’s your thing, give it a kick!
#4 – Breakfast Toppings
Put some bacon and eggs on those burgers! You can do the same thing with the bacon as you can with the burgers themselves. A good strong flavored bacon like Maple works well to add some flavor to burgers and a fried egg is a nice touch.
Add a little syrup if you are inclined and turn a dinner or lunch into a hearty breakfast. This burger goes great with a cup of coffee or a tall glass of milk on a hot summer day.
#3 – Burgers Marinara
Some spaghetti or marinara sauce and some mozzarella cheese make those burgers even better than a traditional chicken marinara dinner. Of course, it can go well with actual chicken burgers but the right recipe works well of beef too. Plus melted and stretchy mozzarella cheese is a fun addition to any burgers!
#2 – Pineapples
The sweet and sugary fruit makes a great topping on a burger. Have a slice and it brings sweetness to the meal. The pineapple can also double as the burger patty itself if you ever want to try a Hulaburger!
Pineapple slices taste great when grilled. It also helps if you have some side dishes and a fruit flavored soda or juice to go along with your burgers. A pineapple salsa also works great if you don’t want to go for rings and just want some pineapple chunks in your burgers.
#1 – “Professional Experimentation”
Ingredients like Thousand Island Dressing, slices of apple, or anything else you find works for those big professional places that serve burgers. It may take some tinkering and experimentation to get it right to what you want but just go for it.
Keep the traditional stuff on hand in case something doesn’t work out, but experimenting yourself, or better yet, having your guest experiment with toppings could be a lot of fun. Who knows, you may come up with a burger combination no one has thought of.
