Top 5 Songs from New Selena Gomez Album, Rare
After a long 5 year drought, Selena Gomez is back with her third studio album, Rare. It was released on Friday, January 10th, and quickly climbed the charts.
Some fans and critics have said this is her best album yet and they aren’t lying. Each song has its own sound and is a dramatic growth from her past albums. Every song on this album could easily be a radio single. The first single, “Lose You to Love Me,” was released on October 23rd and gave Gomez her first number one. The next day she released “Look at Her Now,” along with a music video.
Her second official single, “Rare”, was released the same day as her album. While it is so hard to narrow down 5 songs out of the amazing 13, here are out top 5 songs from the new Selena Gomez album Rare.
Selena Gomez Rare – Ring
This song could be two-fold. Some may think of ring, like jewelry you wear on your finger and in another way it could be like a phone ringing. Gomez sings about both and gives off an Amy Winehouse sound. Some think it may be about her on-again, off-again ex proposing to her at one point in the relationship. Others think it is her singing about how she still has her exes and people wrapped around her finger, like a ring. We don’t know the true meaning, but we will continue to stream.
Selena Gomez Rare – Dance Again
“Dance Again” could be a radio hit! Every time I listen to it, it makes me think of Summertime, driving down the street with the windows down, sunglasses on, and good vibes. It would also be a great tune for clubs and parties. It is a feel-good tune that you could play after a break-up or really any occasion. So, if you need some happiness and self-confidence in your life, turn on this song LOUD and have no worries.
Selena Gomez Rare – People You Know
“People You Know” is probably the most relatable song on the whole album. People change in life, whether you still talk to them or not, they can be someone you know and then the next second you don’t know them. This can be about a relationship, friendship, etc. She went through a very tough time since her last album release and has found out who was there for her and who wasn’t.
The title track became the second single and for a good reason. Everyone deserves to hear this song and know how special and Rare they really are. In this song, Gomez talks about how her former lover doesn’t recognize her unique qualities and that she is not perfect, but she is the only one of her and that’s enough. From the lyrics to the production, it may be one of Gomez’s best songs ever.
Lose You to Love Me
You are lying you said you didn’t at least tear up listening to this. Everyone can relate to this song. It is about getting out of a toxic relationship, friendship, or even a family member, job, etc. You had to leave that situation because you started hating yourself instead of that person/situation. Now, that the person is gone from your life you realize your worth and are happier in the process. Very relatable.
