Top 5 Best Brooklyn 99 Episodes and Quotes
I like to think that everyone has a show that is like a televised security blanket. Something that you put on that always makes you feel better and makes you laugh. A show where every single character is a friend, where you can laugh at the idiocy in life, and celebrate the purity that exists. That show for me is Brooklyn 99, and every time I need to truly escape the 99 has got my back. There are a lot of great episodes, and most of them are someone’s favorite. But these are the ones, that resonated with many, and will forever be in the hearts of the fans. Check out our list of the top 5 best Brooklyn 99 episodes.
Best Brooklyn 99 Episodes – Game Night (Season 5 Episode 10)
This is truly a beautiful episode. Rosa is dealing with the challenge of coming out as a Bi-sexual to her parents. And in this episode, we are reminded that family has nothing to do with blood, family is the people who love us for who we are, and who support us in everything we do, the people who are there for us. The ending of this episode is my favorite moment in the entire series and made me ever thankful for this show. Because even if you don’t have a support system in your life, you have one on Brooklyn 99.
Episode quote: “Every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place.”
Best Brooklyn 99 Episodes – Moo moo (Season 5 Episode 16)
The show takes on another important issue in this episode, racism. Brooklyn 99 has always stood out, casting two black characters, and two Latina characters, making this one of the most diverse shows out there.
In this episode, the character, Terry gets profiled in his own neighborhood and made to feel like a threat when all he was doing was trying to find his daughter’s toy. Despite the grim topic, optimism and the need for change was the core message.
Episode quote: “That’s all he could see: a threat.”
Best Brooklyn 99 Episodes – Captain Peralta (Season 2 Episode 8)
As someone with daddy issues, I can relate with Jake Peralta. And although I have never met my father, this episode showed how devastating it can be when your father disappoints you. I love this episode since it features my favorite relationship in the show, Jake and Holt. And every time Holt shows Jake the paternal love that he needs, my heart is simultaneously jealous and joyful.
Episode quote: “I don’t know what fathers and sons do but I’m gonna find out!”
Cheddar (Season 3 Episode 18)
Possibly the episode that forces me to make the sound “Awwwww” the most. And that is due to the sweetest lil do there is. When Holt asks Jake and Amy to dog Sit Cheddar, it doesn’t go exactly to plan, and cheddar gets out, taking the turtles necks down with him. What makes this episode great is the cuts from the teams panic to Cheddar’s gentle stroll, living his best life on a sunny afternoon.
Episode Quote: “I have got to stop living my life out loud.”
The Chopper (Season 2 Episode 22)
All Holt has to say is Velvet Thunder and chills run down spines from all over. In this episode, Jake, Boyle and Holt team up on a very exciting case. A true testament on why it is important to maintain your enthusiasm and passion in your career. Holt’s inner beast awakens, and he forgets the petty rivalries and remembers why he loves being a Police Officer. Holt also realizes that putting pressure on yourself to be perfect is fruitless, and when he lets go, that is when he has a breakthrough.
Unfortunately, the ending of this episode isn’t so great, and Wunch gets the better of Holt, this time. I really don’t like that woman.
Episode Quote: “Bingpot.”
There are so many great episodes for us to watch, and they are all so good. My only wish is that we get much more of Cheddar, also I would like to catch up on Rosa’s dog Arlo. Basically, we need more dogs.
