Cartoons About Family #5 – The Boondocks
Based on the comics, The Boondocks was an amazing animated show that airs on Adult Swim. This show tells a story about the Freeman family, two brothers and their grandpa. The Freemans live in a white suburb and as a black family they have to deal with issues related to social status, stereotypes, and race. The brothers who are ten and eight, also have a tough time at school with their classmates and friends.

King Of The Hill has been off the air since 2010 but is still one of the top cartoons about family to date. King Of The Hill followed the Hill family who lived in Arlin. Texas. The father, Hank, is a conservative man who loves his family but does not like to express it. His wife, Peggy, is a substitute teacher, a housekeeper, and finds herself as a buffer between her husband and son.
Their son, Bobby, is not the son Hanks dreamed of. Hank wants Bobby to follow in his footsteps and play sports and be skilled with tools like he is. But Bobby likes making people laugh and going through life at the beat of his own drum.

F Is For Family shows just how dysfunctional a family can be. This show set in the 1970s is about a father, Frank, who is a Koren war veteran now living a civilian life. Franks has a short temper with his family, and loves cursing and American beer. His wife Sue, is an American housewife who dreams of being more than that in the world.
Frank and Sue have three kids. Kevin is a teenager who is in his rebellious phase of not wanting to play by anyone’s rules. Bill is the middle child and struggles with getting noticed while dealing with bullies. The youngest, Maureen, has the face of an angle, but love’s causing chaos and appreciates intelligence.

Since 1989, The Simpsons have been a top cartoon about nuclear American families. Homer may seem like a dimwit father, but he goes to work everyday in a power plant and he always puts his family first. Marge is a hard working housewife. She takes care of the house, making sure it’s clean and there are cooked meals for the family all while taking care of three kids.
The Simpsons have shown throughout their thirty seasons that Bart, Lisa, and Maggie can all be a handful for Homer and Marge. Bart is constantly getting into trouble at school and with friends. Lisa although she is brilliant, shows that she needs special attention when it comes to her gifted needs and Maggie is an adorable baby but we cannot forget she shot Mr. Burns. The best part about the Simpson family is that even though they can get on each others nerves, they still love each other and will go to great lengths for the family.

A cartoon about family that is filled with love and humor is Bob’s Burgers. This show is about the Belcher family, who own and operate a burger joint as they go about their everyday lives. Bob and Linda have settled down and have three kids together. Linda is very persistent in trying to keep the spark alive between her and Bob, he forgets their wedding anniversary.
Tina, Gene, and Lousie are the three children that Bob and Linda have who help with the restaurant. When not working, Tina is trying to impress boys. Gene is always trying to make people laugh, and Louise is scheming up a plan to get the most out of her family. Even though this family is a bit odd they always come together to support each other.
