Winnie the Pooh is perhaps one of the most beloved cartoon characters among both children and adults, like myself. Ever since I can remember, Pooh bear was an integral part of my life. No matter what I was doing, you could always count on me watching Winnie the Pooh reruns on TV. Though I have outgrown the simpler times of being a kid, the comfort of Pooh never left me. The release of Christopher Robin last summer reignited my love for Pooh and all of his friends in the Hundred Acre Woods. The movie is equally warm, funny, and tear-inducing, but it nonetheless leaves its audience with a firm message to never forget the value of having fun and being a kid at heart. Though the whole movie is heartwarming by nature, here are the top five heartwarming moments in Christopher Robin (beware, spoilers)!
Christopher Robin Heartwarming Moments #5 – Christopher Robin and Family Gather in the Hundred Acre Woods
After the climatic part of the movie where Christopher Robin successfully saves his job and proves himself to be worthy of respect and value, he, along with his wife and daughter, make the trip to the Hundred Acre Woods to visit Pooh and all his friends. They have a fun picnic party and Christopher Robin and Pooh are together again, and will remain together, forever.
Christopher Robin Heartwarming Moments #4 – Christopher Robin Says Goodbye to Pooh
Due to the fact that Christopher Robin has an important work presentation to do, he cannot stay with Pooh in the Hundred Acre Woods, which makes for a highly emotional, tear-jerking moment between him and Pooh. Christopher Robin tells Pooh that he isn’t who he used to be and he’s no longer fun, to which Pooh replies, “Of course you are, you’re our friend.” I’m not crying, you’re crying!
#3 – Pooh Plays “Say What You See” on the Train
Christopher Robin hurries to return Pooh to the Hundred Acre Woods by train but is busied by some extra work he has to complete for a job presentation. Becoming frustrated with Pooh’s silly questions and conversation, he suggests that Pooh find something to do to amuse himself. Pooh starts saying words like “house, tree, a man, dog”, which confuses Christopher Robin, but Pooh assures him he’s merely playing a game of “Say What You See”. In this scene, the innocence of Pooh and playing a silly game warms the heart.
#2 – Pooh Meets Adult Christopher Robin in London
Long after Christopher Robin’s adolescent days in the Hundred Acre Woods, he is now in London with a adult job and a family. The stressors of life and his job has taken a toll on him, making him forget the values of having fun and enjoying the little things in life. Just at this time, Pooh can’t seem to find his friends and seeks out the help of Christopher Robin. The two meet out of the blue in a small park in London, and it’s a reunion that is purely magical.
#1 – Christopher Robin Leaves for Boarding School
The movie spares no time in bringing a tear to your eye and warmth to your heart, where at the very beginning, Pooh and his friends are hosting a farewell party for Christopher Robin as he leaves for boarding school. Right before he is about to leave, Christopher Robin and Pooh talk, and Christopher Robin promises he will never forget about Pooh and the wonderful times they shared together. Is someone chopping onions in here?
