Top 5 90s Trends That Have Made a Comeback
The 1990s, what a time! This decade was the rise of multiculturalism and alternative media. Young people around the world were taking on movements such as grunge, hip hop, rave scenes and more. The world wide web and cable television changed lives forever. Although the 90s did bring a lot of new technology, music, and pop culture moments that will live forever, one thing that will never go out of style is the fashion trends.
Many of those trends have made a comeback 30 years later and now we are regretting getting rid of those items. Read on for the top 5 90s trends that have made a comeback.
90s Trends – Fanny Packs

If you type ‘fanny packs’ into Google, a lot of results will pop up. Stores such as Forever 21, Target, and Walmart, are selling fashionable packs. Great for on-the-go, concerts, or just making a fashion statement, fanny packs are now in almost every store you go to. From pop culture characters to sequins, you can buy a fanny pack that will fit your style. If you don’t know what a fanny pack is (why are you reading this article), it is a fabric pouch that buckles around your waist.
90s Trends – Crop Tops

Along with cassette tapes and vinyl’s, it seems like celebrities that are selling merch, all have crop tops on their sites. Made famous by celebrities like Britney Spears and The Spice Girls, crop tops are shirts that are cut off above your belly button. They can have long or short sleeves. During the 90s, it seemed like they were the only shirts teenage girls wore. Now, 90s babies and younger are rocking the trend again.
Chokers

You were so cool if you had the basic tattoo black choker. A trend that trickled into the early 2000s, chokers were tight necklaces that almost resembled a dog collar. Now sold in almost any clothing/accessory store (not just Hot Topic), chokers are coming back with vengeance. The pointy, Gothic leather chokers are perfect for the goth kids. The tattoo chokers are great for those who love nostalgia, and the others are for those who like chokers.
Double Denim

Going out in jeans and a denim jacket was the norm in the 90s. Many times, the jacket and jeans were two different tones (hello acid wash) and we rocked it. Double denim is now back, with many thanks to Brad Pitt in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The number one rule is to not wear the same color denim, you will look like a cowboy. Also, try changing up the color palette to stay trendy.
Mini Backpacks

Mini backpacks have become more of a fashion statement, than useful. As seen in the movie, Clueless, mini backpacks were a trend in the 90s that many kids used in school. In the 90s, you would pair a mini backpack with jelly shoes and capris probably. They are useful for concerts, school days, if you don’t feel like carrying a purse, hiking, and much more.
