Top 5 Coolest Characters From WCW vs NWO World Tour
WCW vs NWO World Tour was a game for the Nintendo 64 and the original Playstation in 1997. It was a wrestling game where you faced all kinds of opponents, fighting your way to the world title.
The game featured well known wrestlers from WCW and those from the NWO, but also featured wrestlers that were based off the original game which WCW vs NWO was derived from, Virtual Pro Wrestling 64. While in the United States many of those in the game were said to be just made up characters, in Japan these wrestlers were modelled after real grapplers. So with that, here are the top 5 coolest characters from WCW v/s NWO World Tour.
WCW vs NWO World Tour Characters – Puchteca

A character based on Japanese FMW founder Atsushi Onita. He can be found with short blue tights and a white sleeveless t-shirt as one of his outfits. In the game, it is said he works for DOA wrestling, which is based on the real-life FMW promotion. He uses a lot of open-handed chops and kicks along with a very strong driving headbutt. Also known to grab a weapon from ringside so he is also just as apt to grab a section of a wood table and bash you over the head.
WCW vs NWO World Tour Characters – Black Widow

A woman wrestling character based on famed grappler Manami Toyota. Black Widow is one of the secret characters in the Game’s single-player mode and you face her before you advance to the main event. She uses her speed and will give you a running kick, or hit you with her butt after a running charge. Black Widow loves to climb to the top turnbuckle and give you a flying dropkick or dive on you with a diving shin smack on her way to a victory.
WCW vs NWO World Tour Characters – Saladin

Based on the legendary Abdullah the Butcher and said to take part in DOA wrestling. Much like the person he is based on, Saladin is a large wrestler, around 6 feet tall and 300 pounds. He can be found in the game waving his arms around in a ceremonial prayer. Another wrestler known for his dirty fighting, Saladin will take a baseball bat from ringside and hit you with it. He is also known to give opponents headbutts right to the groin and then give the crowd a simulated version of the middle finger (The game was family-friendly so he doesn’t actually flip anyone off).
Hannibal

Based on the masked Hayabusa and competes for DOA wrestling. A quick wrestler, he uses chops and spin kicks along with a lot of diving moves and moves from the top rope. Definitely a striker and will wear an opponent down with a number of chops or a series of spin kicks. Often finishes an opponent off with a powerbomb drop into a pinfall to win his matches.
Joe Bruiser

The final opponent of the single player mode. Joe Bruiser is seen wearing boxing gloves and boxing trucks and usually just knocks people out with a punch more than anything. Once you defeat him and earn the right to actually play as him, Joe is a tough opponent for your opponents to fight. He is said to be based on Muhammad Ali although the character or the art don’t resemble Ali that much.
