Alexa, play “it’s time to go” by Taylor Swift. You know the feeling, everyone does. When you’ve been at a job for too long and you don’t enjoy it anymore and you just want to get out and quit right now. You may not be in that position right now, but you probably were at one time.
Sure, everybody hates their job from time to time, but you know when you reach the point of ‘I need to get out. I need to find another job.’
Read on to find out the top 5 signs it’s time to quit your job.
You Cry All the Time

You cry in the car before your shift starts, on break, and when you come home. Work should not damage your mental or physical health that you cry because of it. Even though you may not like your job, you shouldn’t be crying because of it. But if you do cry, cry while you’re on the clock. Let them pay for your unhappiness. Don’t do it for free.
You search for other jobs

Instead of scrolling through tiktok or reading or doing whatever it is you do on break, you log into Indeed and search for jobs while at your job. Or you do it when you get home. You will know that you found the right job when you stop searching for other jobs while having that job.
You’re undervalued

Is your boss/manager/co-workers taking advantage of you and it seems like they don’t do it to anyone else? Are you doing way more than you’re getting paid for? You may be undervalued. Find a job where your manager says thank you at the end of each shift and appreciates what you do for them. People don’t leave jobs, they leave managers.
You vent about your job too much

Sometimes you’ll come home and vent about something that happened that day, but when your family/roommate/significant other is tired of hearing about you complain, maybe it is time to leave. Every little thing bothers you and you can’t find one positive thing about the day, that’s when it is time to go.
You have other dreams

You might have taken this job because it was the only one you could get and you have bills to pay, but now you want something else. You want to follow your dreams/passion/happiness. It is time to get out. Do something that makes you happy. Life is too short not to be. It might be hard to find something right away but keep trying.
If your job is causing you any kind of anxiety or stress, please leave. It is not worth risking your health-physical or mental or your social life.
