Top 5 Ways To Celebrate The 4th Of July
Fourth of July or Independence Day is this weekend, and it is a fun time to celebrate the country and its history. Independence Day is the day commemorating the Declaration of Independence and the birth of America as a country.
Many people go to the shore for the holiday and people have the day off, so you might as well do something fun. So, grab your family and grab your friends and celebrate the whole weekend.
Here are the top 5 ways to celebrate the 4th of July.
Cookout
One of the best and most popular things to do on the Fourth of July is to have a cookout, or barbeque. Cook up some hamburgers, hot dogs, and anything else you like. Bring out the potato salad and corn on the cob and decorate them with patriotic items. Maybe a dessert could be decorated like a flag and you could light sparklers and it can be a great time.
Watch / Set Off Fireworks
The one thing that most people associate with Independence Day is fireworks. There are plenty of firework shows around that are set off by professionals for neighborhoods to watch. Or if you are an adult and very careful, then you can set off your own fireworks. Make sure they are legal in your state. And if you don’t feel like going out at all, there are fireworks on TV for you to watch and enjoy.
Parade
Many towns host Fourth of July parades, where people dress up in colonial garb, wave flags and play patriotic songs. New England, Philadelphia, and Rhode Island are states that have big parades and celebrations. Check out your local news stations and guides to find out where to go see a parade.
Festivals and Events
The 4th of July is a great time to celebrate the Summer, America and music. And because of that many states have festivals and celebrations that you can go to including Made In America in Philly, Denver’s fireworks and festival and many more around the country. Whether it’s fireworks show, a concert, or just a fun public barbeque, there should be something to do in any state you live in. Just be sure to wear your patriotic gear.
Swimming
Independence Day is smack dab in the middle of Summer and it’s going to be hot, hot, hot. If you are lucky enough to have a pool or are going to a house with a pool, take advantage of it. Get flag patterned floats and patriotic music and cool off in the pool. Or if you will be at the shore, grab a patriotic beach towel or bathing suit and catch some waves.
