The man, the legend, the myth. John Wick was a man who retired when the opportunity was right but ended up getting the worst deal of his life. Since being brought back into the life, Mr. Wick has killed more people on-screen than Jason Voorhees! With three movies filled with amazing fight scenes, it’ll be tough to choose the best moments, but here goes. With the third entry released this year and becoming a box office success, let’s countdown the best John Wick fight scenes!
Spoilers ahead!
Best John Wick Fight Scenes #5 – Introductions
We start things off right in the beginning. John’s wife has died from cancer but problems arrive when a Russian thug breaks into John’s house, assaults him, kills his puppy and steals his car. Tarasov, a Russian crime boss, explains to his son, and the audience, who John Wick is. He paints a picture of a man who had a great life but since everything was taken away from him, they’ve unleashed a monster unlike anything we’ve seen before. This is what started it all and like Tarasov said, “He’s the one you send to kill the f***ing boogeyman.” This was our first glimpse into Mr. Wick!
Best John Wick Fight Scenes #4 – Red Circle Club Rampage
With the young Russian thug, Iosef, hiding from John in this nightclub, John seeks revenge. After escaping from a shoot-out at his home, John is seeking blood and no one in the nightclub is safe. Using his fists, his pistols and everything else, no one is capable of bringing this legendary assassin down. The choreography is amazing and John shows no fear or hesitation every time he pulls the trigger. This is easily one of the best John Wick fight scenes of the trilogy.
#3 – A Fateful Decision
With John Wick Chapter 2, Mr. Wick is being hunted again after. Santino D’ Antonio order a $7 million open contract on John and does all he can to escape. Everyone Santino sends after John are killed almost immediately and Santino hides at the one place he knows he can’t get hurt, The Continental. The hotel where business is not allowed to be conducted. John finds Santino there and makes a decision that left the audience shocked. With the ending of Chapter 2, fans were eager for part three, and while we waited for two years, it would prove to be worth it.
#2 – Who Needs a Gun? John Has a Pencil.
The first and second film both told of a story where John killed three men with just a pencil and people were wondering to themselves, how’d he do that? With a film that features guns and shootouts, it was quite a surprise to see John kill two men in Chapter 2 with just a pencil. First, we were told, then the movie decided to indulge the audience with this memorable moment this still gives my ear pain every time I see it! There’s no kill in this trilogy that stands out more than this one!
#1 – Antique Store Knife Fight!
There’s no question that Chapter 3 is the best of this franchise and it has many great moments. Of all of them, the throwing knives scenes stands out the most. Sure, we seen knives used before but never quite like this! With a massive bounty of his head, everyone is looking to kill Mr. Wick! In this scene, John fights several men in a store that has plenty of knives that would make any hunter blush! Not only are people stabbed, kicked and thrown around, but knives are thrown into bodies and even the head. The audience roared with excitement and even screamed out “did you see that!” in theaters. This scene is my favorite of the trilogy because of how unique it is, but nevertheless, Chapter 3 has moments that you’ll want to watch again and again!
