James Cameron’s epic tale of the ill-fated ship tells the story of two people who meet onboard and how their lives are changed forever. Different in social class and ideas about life but their attraction and chance meeting have secured Jack and Rose’s story in cinema history. While they only had a couple of days together, Rose’s reflection of him is a beautiful tale especially since she was unhappy with her life when she made the first step on the Titanic. From their mutual attraction to having a lot in common, Jack and Rose’s romance was short-lived but never forgotten. Her heart went on to love someone else, but her memory of Jack never left her mind.
Best Romantic Movie Couples #4 – Adrian and Rocky – The Rocky Franchise

An ordinary man who gets a shot at the title has his eyes set on something else. A shy woman working in a pet shop named Adrian. Rocky always visits her, tells her a joke or two and never gives up on seeing her. Their first date on Thanksgiving resulted in ice skating and showing her his apartment with the two turtles, cuff and link, she had sold him. The rest is history.
The Rocky franchise is known for its iconic fights and workout sessions, but the love of Adrian and Rocky is the heart of the story. After removing her glasses, Rocky knew that Adrian was the woman he wanted. Even the proposal scene in Rocky II is bitter sweet and romantic in the simplest ways. Even after her death, Rocky names his restaurant after her and visits her gravesite to read the paper to her. She may not be by his side, but Adrian is always in Rocky’s corner.
#3 – Noah and Allie – The Notebook

Have you ever met someone and knew that you wanted them? Well, Noah certainly did when he met Allie at the carnival. Despite his brazen attempt at asking her out and being complete opposites, a summer romance blossomed. Of course, they were happy except Allie’s parents who didn’t want her getting together with a poor boy. But love knows no bounds. After leaving town and returning home, both Allie and Noah are devastated by the loss, but Noah never gives up writing her a letter a day for a year with the hopes of hearing from her.
Seven years go by until they see each other again, and even though their lives are changed, their feelings are not. Plus, when they get older, him reading her their story is a reminder that true love will never give up on you and will always be by your side.
#2 – Scarlett and Rhett – Gone with the Wind

Speaking of opposites attract, Scarlett and Rhett are the prime example, with the exception that Scarlett is too selfish to realize it at a pivotal moment. Gone with the Wind is one the most amazing films to watch simply for its set design, costumes and characters. With Scarlett and Rhett, their love is more complicated than anything and doesn’t fit with other films on this list.
It’s a character study of these two because they are so different but Rhett is fascinated by Scarlett and how her personality differs from the other women he’s met. From the way he looks at her, to their turbulent marriage and the death of their daughter sets forth in motion a series of events that surely to not bore or disappoint. It’s only too late when Scarlett realizes how much she loves Rhett leaving us with an ending that many can speculate what happens afterward.
#1 – Rick and Ilsa – Casablanca

“We’ll always have Paris.”
A summer romance is always nice. It gives us nice memories, stories to tell and when we get older it’s nice to have something to reflect back on. Rick and Ilsa’s story is the reason we love romance films. Love is something we always want in life, but when it’s taken away, it changes us. Rick changes and when he happens to see Ilsa in the most unlikely of places it shocks him beyond belief.
Casablanca is a great movie anchored by memorable performances. It talks about how love escapes us and how our behavior can change as a result. While their love doesn’t blossom when they meet again, we can see it in their eyes that something is missing between them. A song must never be played in his bar because it would stir up a memory that he doesn’t want to be brought back. Their love for each was also short-lived but a memory lives on. From the iconic lines, to the way they look at each other and letting her go so that she can be saved makes Casablanca a must watch for anyone who loves romance and a great story.
