Top 5 Questions We Have About ‘Snow White’
“Snow White” was the first Disney Princess film, which was made in 1937. It is also the first full-length animated film and Disney’s first animated feature film. “Snow White” is based on the 1812 German fairytale by the Brothers Grimm. The film was a commercial and critical success and held the record for the highest-grossing sound film at the time.
The Oscar nominated film is about a young girl named Snow White, who lives with her stepmother, after both her parents die. The stepmother is an evil queen and wants to be the fairest in the land, but when the magic mirror tells the queen that Snow White is the most beautiful she goes on a hunt to kill her, resulting in Snow White running away.
Like most films, there are some things that just don’t make sense. We looked at “Cinderella” and “Beauty And The Beast,” but now it is time to figure out the plot holes in “Snow White.”
Why Do All The Dwarfs Live Together?
Are they brothers? Family? Why does Dopey look so much younger than the rest of them? We see in the movie that they clearly all work together, so are they coworkers? Did their work provide housing for them? And how can they fit Snow White in the house? There are already 7 people living in it and it is a little cottage. And it’s just in the middle of the woods. Were the dwarfs like cast out of the town? We have so many questions.
What Is The Prince’s Name? / Where Did He Come From?
Besides being referred to outside the movie as Prince Charming, which is also the prince in “Cinderella,” there is no mention of his name. And he just appears, singing to Snow White out of nowhere. If her dad was the king and her stepmother is the queen, where did this random prince come from? Is he from another kingdom? How did he get here?
How Long Was Snow White In The Glass Coffin For?
When the film depicts Snow White in the glass coffin, it shows the weather changing, so was she in it for a few months? How did her body stay preserved? How did she not smell? Technically, she’s not fully dead, I guess, just poisoned, but still. It could have been a year before the prince came to save her. But it’s probably all thanks to Disney magic.
Why Did The Queen Hire A Huntsman If She Had Magic?
The Evil Queen orders to kill Snow White by ripping out her heart, but if she is such a powerful sorceress, who can summon spirits in mirrors and so forth, why didn’t she just cast a spell on Snow White to kill her? Or better yet, put a potion in her food or something. It seemed like she wanted the credit but didn’t want to do the work.
Wouldn’t Snow White Be The Queen If Her Father Was King?
Yes, the Evil Queen married her father before he died, but in most countries, the next person in line would be the child, so why wasn’t Snow White queen? Maybe she was too young and innocent because her age is never mentioned, but she could have the Evil queen banished and all of her problems would go away.
