Selena Gomez just made an amazing comeback, with not one, but two new singles! “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now” are playing on radios constantly and are moving up the charts.
Gomez has released songs between 2015’s Revival and now, but these two are finally singles for her upcoming album, slated to be out next year.
With this new era beginning, it is fun to look back at Gomez’s catalog of music and reminisce. She has such an extensive category of music from solo work to Selena Gomez and the Scene to Disney Channel days, collaborations and everything in between, it is so hard to pick just 5 songs of hers, but here are our picks.
Selena Gomez Singles #5 – “Come & Get It”- 2013
This is another song where even if you weren’t a Selena Gomez fan, you turned up the radio in your car and sang along to it. “Come & Get It” was one of the songs of Summer 2013. To this day it is still iconic and one of Gomez’s most nominated songs. It is the lead single off her first solo album and showed the world that she is a force to be reckoned with.
Selena Gomez Singles #4 – “Who Says” – 2011
Throwing it back all the way to 2011, “Who Says” encouraged listeners to love themselves, kind of like the theme in Gomez’s latest releases. It is a feel-good track and would be perfect to play on tour with her current songs. Don’t ever let anyone’s opinion of you get your down. You are perfect.
Selena Gomez Singles #3 – “Hands to Myself”- 2016
You must admit you blared this in your car on at least one occasion. “Hands to Myself” is so catchy, you must dance to it and scream it at the top of your lungs. The song is about what people think love is, how it is shown in the movies. The song is so popular she performed it in 2018 with best friend, Taylor Swift, at Swift’s reputation Stadium Tour in LA.
#2 – “The Heart Wants What it Wants”- 2014
This song is like the younger sister to “Lose You to Love Me.” She hasn’t grown yet and learned about getting out of toxic situations. “The Heart Wants What It Wants” is one of Gomez’s most emotional songs. She didn’t love herself yet.
#1 – “Lose You to Love Me”- 2019
Gomez latest release is one that resonates with a lot of people. That’s why it is number one. “Lose You to Love Me” could relate to a relationship, friendship, job, family member, or anything toxic in someone’s life that made them love themselves less. It was such a great song for her comeback, and we know this album is going to be all about self-love and iconic!
We are so excited for this new era of Selena! Until we get anymore songs, we will be listening to her entire catalog.
