See A Broadway Play
This is probably the number one thing to do in New York. If you aren’t coming to see a Broadway play, then what’s the point? Haha. Just kidding. But seriously. There are so many options available to see. If you like musicals or are just into plays with not a lot of musical numbers, there is something for you to see. From “Wicked” to “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” to “Mrs. Doubtfire,” there is something for everyone. If you have time, be sure to wait at the stage door and you might be able to meet some of the cast after the show.
Visit Times Square At Night
Times Square is iconic any time of the day but there is something about it at night. You can see it all lit up and get a better view of the New Year’s Eve ball. All of the lights and billboards illuminate Times Square. Times Square offers lots of shopping, places to eat, characters you can meet, tons of people and more. You will never be bored visiting Times Square. There is something for everyone like Madame Tussauds, bowling, comedy clubs, Radio City Music Hall and lots more.
The Statue Of Liberty
Most people know that New York City is home to the Statue Of Liberty. It is located on Ellis Island, which is in between New York City and New Jersey. You can pay the $20 fare to take a boat ride that stops at the island, so you can get out and walk around. If you have enough energy left, you can actually climb Lady Liberty and look out to see a beautiful view. You can also see if you have any relatives in the records at the National Museum of Immigration.
Eat A Lot Of Food
Half of the fun in going to New York City is eating. There is so much to try there from vendors to restaurants to food trucks. There is bound to be something for everyone to like. Pizza is a must-try, but if you feel like sitting down to eat Ellen’s Stardust Diner is always a good option if you don’t mind the waiters singing as they serve you your food. New York is also known for their bagels, clam chowder, cheesecake, hot dogs and more.
Go To Central Park
Most people do not realize just how big Central Park actually is. You will not be able to walk the whole thing in one day. However, it is more than just a park. There are a ton of things to see and do there including The Mall, the Bow Bridge, Bethesda Terrace and Fountain and more. There are pop-up shops, statues, entertainment, etc. Or if you just want to walk or run in the park that’s good too. There will be a lot of people so be prepared.
No matter what you do in New York City, be sure to bring a lot of money and comfortable shoes because you will be walking a lot.
