Traveling can be fun whether it’s to the next town or the next country. You can explore new places, try different foods, and interact with people that you’ve never met before. While all of that is great, it isn’t always affordable. Airline prices vary, so finding a suitable price could be difficult. Here are the top 5 websites to find the cheapest flights.
Cheapest Flights – Google Flights
The search engine has made it easy to find and keep track of flights. The site lets you check the calendar for cheaper dates, filter by price, airline, and even preferred cities for connections. The best thing about it is the “hidden” feature called Explore. It lets you find the cheapest flights on multiple airlines in the region over a range of several months. You can put in places like Australia or the Caribbean to see all of the options in that area. The deal can come to you with this feature and is perfect for flexible travelers.

Cheapest Flights – Skyscanner
One of my personal favorites, this website & mobile app searches for over 1000+ airlines, sites, and travel agencies for the best flights. It gives you the option to find flexible dates for the cheapest fare. With the app, you get price alerts sent to your phone. The calendar option shows three colors to signify the price. Green means it’s the lowest priced, yellow for moderately priced, and red is the highest price. I find this very helpful for deciding which date to go with for my flight.
Cheapest Flights – ITA Matrix
The original juggernaut for flight information, ITA Matrix is the data that Google uses for its website. You can search for regions, see an entire month’s worth of fares, and give you the option to use most of your miles while paying the least. The coolest feature is the capacity to search for split fares. Round trips can be expensive, so booking one flight at a lower price and the others at a higher price is helpful. The interface isn’t exactly intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, the site can be handy.

A website with a unique name, Momondo is another travel aggregator that searches thousands of airlines quickly. They do have options that no one else does though. The filters for “cheapest,” “quickest,” “best,” and “custom” make finding the exact flight you’re looking for simple. It is also a trip finder where you can search for travel themes based on price and weather. Looking for the best beaches, skiing, and shopping within your budget? Check out Momondo for a one-stop shop on flights.
The Flight Deal
This is the website you’ll find on every “best” list. The Flight Deal is a place where faulty fares pop up for the taking. When airlines post an extremely cheap rate, TFD posts it so that you can book it and go. Most deals only last a few hours, so it’s best to book quickly. They also post daily deals with thousands of airlines. Keep up with their social media pages to get alert and find those deals.
