Fox has released many amazing animated shows over the years like The Simpsons and Family Guy, but Bob’s Burgers has slowly become their best-animated show on the network. Bob’s Burgers first aired in 2011 and since then it has formed a dedicated fan-base and a movie in the works due to its success. One of the many reasons why fans love this show is because of how relatable the characters in the show are. They are funny and smart, no matter what their race or sexual orientation is. With the show not putting an emphasis on the difference of the LGBTQA+ characters, people in that community can just enjoy the Bob’s Burgers characters for who they are.
Bob’s Burgers has shown time and time again how diverse the show is when it comes to the LGBTQA+ community. So keep reading to discover five amazing LGBTQA+ aspects of Bob’s Burgers!
Bob’s Burgers LGBTQA+ #5 – Burger Of The Day

In every episode, fans patiently wait to see what the Burger of the Day is. Bob loves creating new and exciting burgers with high-quality ingredients to provide his customers. And of course, each Burger of the Day has a punny name that Bob creates himself.
When the “We’re Here, We’re Gruyere, Get Use To It Burger” appeared on the chalkboard, many fans celebrated that he took this name from the “We’re here, We’re Queer, Get used to it” saying from the LGBTQA+ community showing that once again the creators support them and want diversity in the show!
Bob’s Burgers LGBTQA+ #4 – Drag Queens

Bob’s Burgers has been pro LGBTQA+ since its very first season. In the episode “Sheesh! Cab, Bob?,” Bob picks up a second job to help pay for his daughter’s, Tina, 13th birthday party. This episode features Bob’s recurring passengers, Glitter, Cha-Cha and Marbles, a group of people who are drag queens.
Bob can tell that these women are drag queens but does not treat them any different from his other passengers. Bob even forms a friendship with them and invites them to attend his daughter’s birthday party.
Bob’s Burgers LGBTQA+ #3 – Gene’s Gender Fluidness

Gene is the funny middle child in Bob’s Burgers that every fan loves. Throughout the series, there have been multiple times where Gene shows that he is not afraid to be himself. There have been multiple occasions where Gene dresses up in traditional women outfits like dresses. This can be seen in the episode “The Kids Run The Restaurant” where Gene ends up singing in an all girl group and wears a sequence dress and wig.
Also, Gene mentions several times throughout the series that he does not enjoy his penis. In, “Bob Fires The Kids,” when Gene is talking to Mickey, Mickey mentions how Gene is not the typical delivery girl and Gene responds with “Tell that to my vagina!” There is even an episode called “The Belchies” where Linda is asking Bob how his penis is after giving him some medicine to which Gene replies, “Mine’s a nightmare, if anyone’s wondering.”
Having Gene be gender fluid in this show is a great way to show how people on the LGBTQA+ spectrum are still everyday people who need to be represented on television.
#2 – Bob Most Likely Being Bisexual

One popular theory among fans of the show is that the main title character Bob is bisexual. In a Thanksgiving-inspired episode called “Turkey In A Can” Bob is seen multiple times going to the grocery store to buy a new turkey. Every time that Bob goes to the store, he sees the same guy at the meat counter who thinks that Bob keeps coming back for turkeys to flirt with him. When the employee finally confronts Bob about it, Bob replied that he “is mostly straight.” This comment makes many fans believe that Bob is bisexual.
There are even other episodes where the creators hint that Bob could be bisexual with how he handles and reacts to other guys hitting on him.
#1 – Marshmellow

One of the most popular and beloved characters among fans of Bob’s Burgers is Marshmellow. Marshmellow is a transgender woman who we meet in season one. Since then she has popped up in different episodes in various seasons stealing the scene as soon as she enters the room. The fact the Marshmallow is transgender is not discussed in the show since it does not define her as a character.
In the scenes that she is in, Marshmallow is funny, charming, and loved by the town. We applaud Bob’s Burgers for being so diverse in there cast and having Marshmallow portrayed as an amazing character in the show.
