Top 5 Celebrities We Would Love To See on The Masked Singer
“The Masked Singer” is a strangely addicting show. For those of you who don’t know about the show, here is what it is. It is a reality competition show where masked celebrities sing every week. Each week one contestant is unmasked after the panel, made up of Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, makes their best (and usually wrong guesses). Whoever is left at the end still gets unmasked but takes home the Golden Mask Trophy.
Originally started in South Korea, the show is now happening all over the world and is making fans go crazy each week. There have been some really shocking (Sarah Palin) reveals and some very obvious (Raven-Symone) reveals.
Now in season 3 in America, the celebrities have gotten bigger than ever, but they’re still not A-List level. Think more along the lines of “Dancing with The Stars” contestants.
So, here are the top 5 contestants we would love to see on The Masked Singer.
Hilary Duff
Duff has released five studio albums and was one of the biggest pop stars in the early 2000s. Now focusing on acting and motherhood, Duff hasn’t been on stage in a while. Fans of hers would probably know her voice right away. Currently, she is trying to get the reboot of Lizzie McGuire to happen again after Disney+ scrapped it due to it being too adult. Our only question is what would her costume be?
Derek Hough
Not too many people know that Hough is actually a good singer. He was even in a band, Ballas Hough Band, when he was younger with his best friend, Mark Ballas. Hough gained fame on the reality competition show, “Dancing with The Stars,” as the professional to win the most mirror ball trophies ever. Currently, Hough is one of the judges on “World of Dance.” Our costume idea – a big disco ball to represent the mirror ball.
Emma Bunton
Bunton spiked to fame in the most popular girl band of all time, The Spice Girls. Since splitting from the Spice Girls, she has released multiple solo albums and songs. Bunton reunited with former bandmates in 2019 for a UK reunion tour. Most recently, she released a Christmas song called “Coming Home for Christmas.” The only acceptable masks she should wear are either a baby (like baby spice, get it?) or a jar of spice, preferably ginger.
Lisa Kudrow
We all know Kudrow’s rendition of “Smelly Cat” and her numerous hits she sang when she played Phoebe Buffay on the hit sitcom, “Friends.” We would love to see that talent carried over to the stage. She even performed “Smelly Cat” in front of thousands as a guest on Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour. Most recently, Kudrow starred in the 2020 movie, “Like A Boss.” Even though there is a kitty this season, Kudrow would have to be a cat… or maybe a holiday armadillo…
Tom Felton
What many people don’t know about the “Harry Potter” actor, is that he can sing and has released songs to prove it. It would be great to see him on stage. The panel would probably be shocked because not many people know he sings. He is set to star in the upcoming Netflix movie, “A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting,” based on the book by Joe Ballarini. Felton would rock a wizard mask or even a snake to represent Slytherin.
