It’s September and that means all of the weekly shows that you know, and love are back on TV! While we will miss our Summer addictions, we are so excited to get back into our favorite fall TV shows.
TV has changed in so many ways in just the past year. Along with local TV and cable, you can now catch your favorite shows on Netflix, Amazon Video, and the newly launched Apple TV + and Disney +.
So whether it is on your computer, your TV, tablet, or smartphone, here are 5 new and returning fall TV shows, that you should watch, in no particular order.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – Nov 12th (Disney+)
I know, it’s a mouthful. The students from the school where High School Musical was shot, the iconic East High School, stage a musical production based on the franchise. It will consist of 10 episodes and air on the new Disney +.
Starring all newcomers, the show looks hopeful. Although fans might want to stick to the status quo and just watch the original trilogy over again, this could be the start of something new. Don’t rule it out yet. Get’cha head in the game and make sure to sign up for Disney+ right here, right now because once a wildcat, always a wildcat.
Modern Family – Sept 25th at 9/8c (ABC)
The blended Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan gives fans an honest, hilarious look into the warm, twisted modern family. Although viewers thought we would say goodbye to the blended family last season, they are back for one last final run, season 11.
What will happen and how will it all end now that there are new babies, the children are grown up and life can change so quickly? Say goodbye to the award-winning show starting on September 25th.
The Simpsons – Sept 29th at 8/7c (FOX)
The longest-running scripted primetime TV series in the US will air it’s 31st season on September 29th. It follows the Simpson family and their neighbors and friends living in Springfield in an unnamed state in the US.
No one knows when or if this show will end but be sure to tune into this season to see what kind of trouble, shenanigans, and adventures they get into. The Emmy-winning show will air their 30th Treehouse of Horror episode this season, which will ironically also be their 666th episode.
“The Simpsons” was also renewed for a 32nd season. Along with airing on FOX, it will also be streaming on Disney+.
The Masked Singer – Sept 25th at 8pm (FOX)
This reality singing competition features celebrities in head-to-toe costumes and face masks which conceal their identity from everyone. The judges have to guess who the celebrity is based on their performance and clues given throughout the season.
Hosted by Nick Cannon, the show doesn’t give away any prizes, but has fans, judges and the audience going crazy over who could possibly be under that mask.
A third season has already been planned and will air after the 2020 Super Bowl.
The Walking Dead – Oct 6th (AMC)
TWD is a post-apocalyptic horror TV series based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.
Now in its 10th season, with numerous characters off the show, could Walking Dead officially be ending? There is no word on if this is the last season or not, however, this will be long-time character, Michonne’s final season. There is talk that there may be films based on Rick Grimes in the future.
